剧情：
罗塞尔（克里斯蒂安·贝尔 Christian Bale 饰）和弟弟罗德尼（卡西·阿弗莱克 Casey Affleck 饰）相依为命的生活在穷困而又闭塞的工业小镇之中，总有一天能够离开这里的朴素愿望成为了支撑兄弟两人了唯一动力，两人每日辛苦打拼，为的就是能够实现这一愿望。 苍天无眼，厄运降临到了与世无争的两兄弟头上，因为一场意外，罗塞尔不得不面临着为期四年的牢狱之灾，当漫长的四年终于走到尽头，重返社会的罗塞尔却发现罗德尼早已成为了一缕冤魂。原来，罗塞尔入狱后，形单影只的罗德尼受到奸人诱惑，开始在地下黑市里打起了违法的拳击赛，这直接导致了他的死亡。悲伤和愤怒一起涌上心头，他决定为罗德尼报仇。
